Short Biography

Volker Roth is a Senior Research Scientist at Fuji Xerox's FX Palo Alto Laboratory (FXPAL). Before joining FXPAL, he served as Chief Technology Officer of OGM Laboratory LLC (OGM Labs) in Omaha, Nebraska, where he developed and oversaw the company's IT and R&D activities. Prior to that, he was deputy department head and principal scientist of the secure mobile agent research group in the security technology department at Fraunhofer Society Institute for Computer Graphics (IGD). In that role, Volker conducted grant and project funding acquisition for the department, and directed and advised junior research staff.

Volker develops software since the early 80's, and worked in the applied & industrial research business for more than 12 years. He received a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in computer science from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, and conducted post-doctoral research on secure inter-domain routing protocols at the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley. He is a member of the ACM, SIGSAC, Deutscher Hochschulverband, and the GI.
